Premium Guard automotive air filters are tested to the highest standards, ensuring optimal performance from both the air filter and your vehicle's engine. Our stringent testing practices address three factors that affect overall filter performance: efficiency, restriction of airflow, and dust-holding capacity. Delivering high efficiency and high capacity, our engine air filters maximize airflow through the filter into the engine, resulting in cleaner air and longer air filter life. Enjoy maximum engine protection and operation with Premium Guard air filters.
Efficiency describes the volume of dirt and pollutants that an air filter prevents from entering an engine. High-efficiency Premium Guard engine air filters trap up to 99 percent* of dirt/pollutants over the life of a filter.
*Tested per ISO-5011
Restriction of airflow measures the air flow that passes through the car filter into the engine. Our automotive air filters are designed to maximize the flow of clean air into the vehicle's engine, enhancing its power and performance.
Dust-holding capacity refers to the quantity (weight) of airborne pollutants captured throughout the life of the auto air filter. All Premium Guard air filters feature high dust-holding capacity for exceptional longevity and performance.

Common Indicators It’s Time to Replace Your Engine Air Filter
Engine Light Comes On: Many cars are equipped with an airflow sensor that sets off the check engine light.
Visual Inspection: Premium Guard automotive air filters are white so you can see if they're dirty. Check the outside and inner layers of the filter paper for dust and debris.
Reduced Fuel Economy: When engines get less oxygen, they consume more fuel. If you notice fuel economy going down, you may need to replace the air filter.
Engine Misfiring: Restricted air supply results in unburnt fuel exiting the engine as soot residue. Soot accumulates on the spark plugs, which can cause the engine to misfire.
Reduced Horsepower: Replacing the air filter can improve acceleration or horsepower. If your car doesn’t respond well or jerks when you step on the accelerator, the engine may not be receiving the air it needs to perform.
Black Sooty Smoke or Flames: Poor air supply can result in fuel not burning completely during the combustion cycle. Unburnt fuel exits the car through the exhaust pipe, possibly resulting in smoke or flames.
*Certain conditions can impact the life of the air filter. Possible causes of more frequent replacement include:
The world’s first spray-applied selective solar coating. Combine solkote’s high absorption characteristics with low emittance substrates for an extremely low-cost and durable selective surface on a wide variety of geometries.
